CHICAGO, March 14, 2005 – Gagen MacDonald is the new name of the strategy execution and communications firm co-founded by Maril Gagen MacDonald in 1998.
With this change, the company also is announcing its additional capabilities in offering clients leadership assessment and coaching, organizational design, diversity strategies and information flow management.
MacDonald noted that the name Gagen personifies a viewpoint, the values and a code of conduct that was represented by a plaque entitled “The Silent Partner” that hung on her father’s office wall for some 40 years.
“Gagen represents the roots of my moral compass. There was no word to represent the thought, but there is a name,” MacDonald said. “We all share these views and values at our core within the company. Many of us here have worked and partnered with each other for 10 years and more – well before the firm was founded. We’ve chosen the name Gagen to personify what we all have in common – a true desire to serve and to make the client’s cause our cause.
“My father was always doing the extra thing to help people every day in life. That kind of spirit embodies what we strive to do with our clients, performance, culture and each other at Gagen MacDonald.”
Chicago-based Gagen MacDonald has worked with a range of corporations including Accenture, American Standard Companies, Baxter International, Inc., Coors Brewing Company, International Truck and Engine Corporation, McDonald’s Corporation, Sears, Roebuck, and Co., Seyfarth Shaw LLP, United Airlines and Whirlpool Corporation.
“Since the firm was founded, we’ve focused our resources and talent in helping companies and people achieve success – whether this means building a high performance culture, improving business performance at the frontlines, delivering on a brand promise, driving strategic internal communications or setting a path for personal growth and development,” MacDonald said.
The firm formerly was named Matha MacDonald LLC. MacDonald purchased all the equity in the firm of August 2004 from her co-founder, Robert A. Matha.
